Injury Update: Gatt Awaiting Confirmation of MRI Results; Ashe Reports to Training Camp

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 1, 2013) – Joshua Gatt is awaiting the results of an MRI evaluation performed on his knee following an injury he suffered on Saturday while playing for Molde.
Houston Dynamo defender Cory Ashe has reported to training camp in San Diego with a thigh contusion he picked up following a collision with New York Red Bulls striker Tim Cahill in the Dynamo’s 2-0 loss Sunday. Ashe will be evaluated by the National Team medical staff and is considered day to day.
Both players are part of the final 23-man roster named for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which takes place from July 7-28 in the United States.
Players and team staff began arriving to San Diego today. The U.S. takes on Guatemala this Friday, July 5 in the only tune-up match prior to the start of the Gold Cup. Kickoff at Qualcomm Stadium is set for 8 p.m. PT (11 p.m. ET), and the match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network and UniMas. All U.S. Soccer fans are invited to attend the U.S. Men’s National Team public training session on Thursday, July 4, at 5 p.m. PT at Qualcomm Stadium. Admission is free and open to the public. Fans are asked to enter the stadium at Gate B and gates will open to the public at 4:30 p.m.
