U-17 WNT Heads to England for Two Matches
The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team will travel to England for a training camp from Aug. 19-29 that will include two matches against the England U-17 WNT.

CHICAGO (Aug. 12, 2013) – The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team will travel to England for a training camp from Aug. 19-29 that will include two matches against the England U-17 WNT.
The USA will face England on August 25th at 12:30 pm local time at Hinckley United Stadium in Leicester and also face England in a closed-door match on Aug. 28.
U.S. head coach B.J. Snow has called up 20 players for the event, almost all born in 1997 and 1998 with one 1999 in forward Frankie Tagliaferri from PDA in New Jersey.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 1997, are age-eligible for the next FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Costa Rica.
The USA is preparing for the 2013 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship which will be held from Oct. 30-Nov. 9 in Jamaica. The USA is the defending champion in the competition, having defeated Canada, 1-0, in the final in Guatemala during the last cycle.
The tournament will feature the USA, Canada, Mexico, host Jamaica, Central American qualifiers El Salvador and Guatemala, and two more Caribbean nations to be determined.
The qualifying competition will follow the same format as in past years, with two-four team groups producing two semifinalists each. There will be no margin for error for any of the teams as only the two finalists will qualify for the U-17 Women’s World Cup, joining CONCACAF member and host Costa Rica.
