Holden will undergo a routine follow-up operation on his knee
Stuart Holden's comeback from injury will be delayed for a few weeks as the U.S. midfielder undergoes a routine follow-up surgery on his knee. The operation was originally scheduled for next summer but Bolton has decided to move it up. Holden will be out for six weeks.
Here's what Stuart had to say about the news on his twiter feed:
"Ab 2 go under for a routine op that needed to be done now as opposed to waiting until sum! Bit of a setback but better for longrun! Obviously I'm disappointed as I've worked so hard the last 6 months, but in the grand scale of things its only a minor blip :) ! Thx every1!"
UPDATE: Bolton is reporting Holden will be out for a further six months after "the follow up operation revealed cartilage damage."
