Due to her hamstring issues this year, U.S. defender Heather Mitts has been extremely conscientious about her strengthening and warm-up, using a large rubber band before each training session to get her muscles firing like they are supposed to. But perhaps she's gotten too strong as today she busted the band. It just snapped during her warm-up and went flying about 15 yards behind her. Fortunately, there were no teammates in the vicinity to get pegged by the flying piece of rubber. She's going to have to get a "new new best friend."
