Sacha Kljestan has joined the small fraternity of U.S. internationals who have added a league championship medal to their trophy case, as Anderlecht clinched their record-setting 31st title this past weekend. He is the second American to win a championship in Belgium, following Oguchi Onyewu's winning years at Standard de Liege. If Bayern Munich defeats Chelsea in the Champions League Final, then Kljestan will also be looking at the opportunity at playing in that elite competition next year.
Kljestan has been a regular fixture in Anderlecht's midfield, appearing in 36 league games this season. He has settled down quite nicely at a club that faces high expectations every season, and back in September he visited with ussoccer.com when the U.S. was in Brussels to face Belgium.
