We can without a doubt say that today was the coldest day we've had since we've been in South Africa. The players broke out beanies for training as day-time temperatures were chilly, but at night it dropped into the low 40s. After a day off yesterday, the U.S. team was back to its normal schedule today with an optional gym workout in the morning and training in the afternoon. The focus is now squarely on Slovenia, a match that will go a long way in determining the USA's second-round fate. You can watch the match on ESPN and Univision at 10 a.m. ET. A bit early for those of you on the West Coast, but well worth getting up (and skipping the first part of work...what? We didn't say that. The MNT Blog does not condone skipping work to watch World Cup games. Wink. Crossing of fingers). Just FYI...the cold spell is supposed to continue so the USA's 4 p.m. local kickoff against Slovenia at Ellis Park in Jo-Burg could be a chilly encounter.
