The Development Academy Winter Showcase isn’t only about games. It’s also a venue to debut products that can help you get better on the field. Nike is using the event for a trial its new boot, the CTR360, i.e. Control 360. The shoe is designed to maximize players’ control with the ball, and encompasses several key product features:
- Asymmetrical lacing system that expands the ball control area
- Dampening pods for exceptional first touch and control when using the lateral forefoot.
- TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) pass pad and a memory foam insert at the instep to enhance control and touch to help distribute the ball with the performance balance and precisions and pace.
- Lightweight TPU plate features dual-density, contoured studs through the forefoot and sharp, strong hell studs for enhanced grip touch and control of the ball with compromising traction, stability or durability.
Along with each pair of boots, players will get a unique code that allows them unlock the Nike Elite Training Control content. The program was developed in collaboration between Nike and FC Barcelona, one of Nike’s elite international teams. You may have heard of them.
Nike is showcasing the CTR360 at the Development Academy to get feedback from players on the shoes as well as run them through the drills which were developed and refined by Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola’s training staff. Players will learn about the fundamentals of control through live on-field demonstrations, active participation, and interactive videos featuring some of the world’s best players. Nike instructors will cover drills and show how control is one of the most critical aspects of the game.
All participants will receive a unique code that unlocks Nike Elite Training Control content (typically only available with CTR360 Maestri boot purchase) on Nikesoccer.com. All of these drills can easily be adapted to future team training sessions and come with top-level coaching points to help your team master control.
