The Men’s National Team is training in Orlando, Florida, and the only way to describe the weather here is HOT. If anyone is happy to be out on the field training in this heat, though, it’s midfielder Jose Torres. He hasn’t been with the U.S. Men since last year because of an injury and he’s thrilled to be back with the guys. Plus, he says this heat is nothing compared to his hometown in Texas!
The last time Torres played with the Men’s National Team was in September, but he says he’s now healthy and ready to go.
“I’m feeling great. It takes you awhile to catch back up on your game and catch up on the momentum, but I’m feeling great. I’m happy to be here and I’m looking forward to these five games that are coming up.”
One person Torres was especially excited to see here in Orlando was teammate – and roommate on MNT trips – Clint Dempsey. As a guest on the Studio 90 Extra Time Podcast in Orlando Torres talked about being reunited with his fellow Texan. Dempsey and Torres grew up about 40 minutes away from each other in Eastern Texas, and spend a lot of their time together catching up.
