WNT Mar 31, 2010
When the U.S. team arrived in Salt Lake City yesterday, they were created by a gaggle of players from the local club teams. While Abby Wambach was signing autographs for the appreciative youngsters, she asked them if they were coming to the game vs. Mexico. One young lady answered that she couldn't because she had practice during the game. Wambach decided she needed to do something about that, so she asked for the player to call her coach. They got voice mail, but Abby left him a message saying that she thought it was important for the young players to watch the U.S. WNT play in person (a rare opportunity in Utah for sure) and suggested he move it up a few hours so the players could attend the game. As we all know, the best two coaches in the world are watching great players and playing with great players, so hopefully the coach will let his kids come to the game. We know one thing for sure, Abby Wambach is doing her part in marketing this team, even if it's only one person at a time...
