That was the warning we got on our Blackberry during the USA vs. Portugal tonight. It was close to 40 degrees, which the YNT Blog guesses isn't that severe, but it was warning us of some other stuff too. We just couldn't read it because our fingers couldn't use the scroll ball: too cold.
On the field the USA fell to Portugal 2-1, with two first half goals proving too much for Wilmer Cabrera's young team. The U.S. got on the board with a late first half penalty from Irvin Gijon and rallied in the second half but couldn't put another goal past the Portugal goalkeeper. There was a great crowd out there, however, and they braved the weather to catch some quality soccer at the end of the day here in Phoenix. Day 1 of the Winter Showcase is in the books.
