The speedy ones, A-Rod and Alex, are back in action with the WNT
The U.S. WNT has gotten a fantastic reception in Kansas City where the folks couldn't be nicer and more excited to see the team, which everyone sincerley appreciates. The squad trained on Monday and Tuesday at the Sporting KC Training Facility at Swope Park and the media, fan and kid turnouts have been excellent. Needless to say, the team is happy to be back together after the emotional run in Germany and everyone is looking forward to the two matches against Canada, both of which should be played in front of great crowds. The first is live on Fox Soccer on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT from the beautiful LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. If you're not in the Midwest, thanks for watching.
Megan Rapinoe didn't make it into KC in time for the first training so Lori Lindsey made sure the usual seat for her "Roomie 4 Life" was reserved. Lori replaced Megan with a cleat bag. We're pretty sure Rapinoe has more personality than a cleat bag. Rapinoe was coming from her hometown of Redding, Calif., so sometimes it's tough to get anywhere from that small Northern California town.
