WNT Jan 17, 2012
This just in: The U.S. WNT spends lots of time in airports. Here the squad waits for its flight to Canada.
Easy travel day for the U.S. WNT today. Relatively short flight from LA (not sure how long, but it's whatever is the length of Moneyball+ a short nap. Also, the WNT Blog maintains that Brad Pitt is underrated as an actor), into the same time zone and they players had time to get a weight workout in the morning and get into Vancouver in time for dinner in the evening.
The squad will hit the turf tomorrow for its first training in Canada in what should be cold temperatures and possible snow, but of course all the games will be indoors so the team will not have to cope with the elements.
The U.S. team will have just three days of training before opening the tournament on Friday in what will be the USA's first-ever match against the Dominican Republic.
Chillin' with some Florence and the Machine and thinking:
"Hmmmm...what should I do for my next goal celebration?"
Reece Rampone brought her monkeys to Canada
Sydney Leroux's mom greeted the team at the airport with donuts...
...and they were enjoyed by all. An uplifting snack at the end of a travel day.
