Castillo helped lift Xolos to the Quarterfinals
The short history of Club Tijuana continues to grow in stature with another huge achievement as the Xolos advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2013 Copa Libertadores with a stunning 2-1 win at Palmeiras. The victory - after a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Tijuana - is only the fourth ever by a Mexican team in Brazil in the tournament and puts them through to face top seed Atletico Maneiro.
With U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann in the stands, U.S. internationals Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona both got the start. Corona helped set up the opening goal, and Castillo patrolled the left side for 90 minutes.
