MNT Oct 10, 2009
Today marks the third anniversary of the passing of former U.S. international and MNT Assistant Coach Glenn “Mooch” Myernick, one of the pioneers of soccer in the modern era and one the classiest human beings to grace the soccer community. As generous as he was competitive, as loving as he was committed, Mooch impacted the lives of all those he touched. As the U.S approaches two of the most important matches for the team in the last decade, we are buoyed by the thought that Mooch would be relishing in this moment and will be pushing the group to leave everything on the field, as he did throughout his life. Our thoughts are with Nancy, Kelly and Travis tonight. We’re raising a glass in his honor. We know he wouldn’t have it any other way.
