Steve Cherundolo gets back in the swing of things today in Europa League
As the summer rolls and the Americans abroad continue to kick back into gear, two U.S. internationals take their first step toward European competition this season with action in the third round of qualifying for the Europa League.
Steve Cherundolo and Hannover head to the Emerald Isle to face St. Patricks. Hannover reached the quarterfinals of last year's competition before bowing out to Atletico Madrid. Finishing in seventh in the Bundesliga table last year, Hannover snatched the final spot for qualifying. St. Patricks are third in the League of Ireland table and host the match at Richmond Park, where a capacity crowd of 3,000 is expected.
After a great start to his move to Rapid Vienna, Terrence Boyd gets his first taste of European competition with a visit to Serbia and a meeting with Vjvodina. The hosts are one of the top three teams in Serbia and enjoy a great following, which will provide another important experience in Boyd's nascent career.
