Joe Gyau earned four caps this year with the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team.
U.S. forward Joe Gyau has agreed to a three-year contract extension with Hoffenheim through the 2014/2015 season, it was reported by Yanks Abroad on Friday.
The 19-year-old Silver Spring, Md., native and former U.S. U-17 Residency player has played regularly for Hoffenheim’s U-23 team. Gyau has not made his Bundesliga debut with Hoffenheim’s first team.
Gyau recently played in all three matches of the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team’s CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying group stage in late March at LP Field in Nashville, Tenn. He also started during the USA’s 2-0 win against Mexico’s U-23 team on Feb. 29 at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
