The U.S. team held its first training in Augsburg yesterday at the historic Rosenaustadion, a 58-year-old stadium that was built with the debris from the aerial bombing of Germany during WWII. For such an old facility, it was remarkably pristine and well-kept, but parts are crumbling and you can see the necessity of building the Impuls Arena where the USA will play Germany on Thursday. The players were divided into two groups, the first of which lifted weights while the others did some technical work for 45 minutes before they flip-flopped. Today, the team is scheduled to train twice, with a longer session in the morning and some light technical work in the afternoon followed by another clinic for some young kids here in Augsburg.
You know a stadium is old when the main stand has wooden seatbacks
