Maurice Edu and Rangers are champions once againAs many of the leagues overseas reach their climax before shutting down for the summer, several U.S. players had important moments this past weekend that define their season.
Maurice Edu - Rangers clobbered Kilmarnock 4-1 to capture their third straight Scottish Premier League title. Combined with winning the Scottish FA Cup, the Glasgow outfit complete the domestic "Double" and are heading back to the Champions League.
Oguchi Onyewu - The USA's man in the middle completed the loan spell at FC Twente with one medal around his next, having collected the Dutch FA Cup crown after they defeated Ajax. Twente couldn't do the double themselves, however, falling to Ajax on the final matchday and finishing in second as 47,000 fans watched the home team win their first title since 2004.
Steve Cherundolo - A slightly bittersweet ending to the campaign for Hannover, who had the Champions League in sight before faltering at the end of the season and losing their place to Bayern Munich. Cherundolo can still be proud of the team he captained to fourth place, and can look forward to competing in next year's Europa League.
On the flip side of happiness, both Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Jonathan Spector (West Ham United) saw their teams relegated.
