Beach Soccer Team to Participate in 2011 Miami Cup

CHICACO (April 21, 2011) -- The U.S. Beach Soccer National Team will participate in the 2011 Miami Cup from April 29 – May 1 in Miami, Fla. U.S. head coach Eddie Soto will travel with 10 players to the event. Soto’s team will play CONCACAF Champion Mexico on April 29, reigning world champion Brazil on April 30 and Spain on May 1.

Soto returns only two players from the U.S. team that finished the 2010 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in third place, narrowly missing a place in the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which will be played from Sept. 1-11 in Italy. Those two players – Francis Faberoff and Oscar Gil – will lead a relatively young side, whose average age is just 25 years old.
