South Africa Tops Slovenia 1-0; Croatia Surprises Italy 2-1; Brazil Cruises Past China 4-0
South Africa earned their first-ever World Cup win and also put themselves in position to claim a spot in the next round by topping Slovenia 1-0. Slovenia's loss eliminated them from their first-ever World Cup.
Siyabonga Nomvete scored in the fourth minute for South Africa, and that was enough to send Slovenia out of the tournament.
South Africa (four points) next face group leaders Spain (six points), while Slovenia (zero points) faces Paraguay (one point).

Croatia cracked Italy's vaunted defense, scoring twice in four minutes to post a come-from-behind win and throw the Group G race up in the air. Croatia and Italy have now posted one win and one loss in their first two matches, while Mexico (one win) faces Ecuador (one loss) tomorrow.
Christian Vieri scored his third goal of the tournament in the 56th minute to temporarily put Italy ahead. But Croatia answered with a goal from Ivica Olic in the 73rd minute and the gamewinner from Milan Rapajc in the 77th minute.
Italy had two eqaulizing goals called back late in the second half.
Alessandro Del Piero, who played only seventeen minutes in the opening game, did not see any time in this match.
Italy concludes group play against Mexico, while Croatia faces Ecuador on June 13.

Brazil walked to an easy 4-0 win over China, eliminating China from their first-ever World Cup. China has yet to score a World Cup goal and will get one more chance when they face Turkey on June 13.
Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo all tallied for Brazil in the win. The South Americans moved to the top of Group C with six points and six goals from two games.
For the Brazilians, the continued fine form of Ronaldo must be encouraging, and the Inter Milan striker scored for the second straight match before being substituted in the 72nd minute.
