U.S. Paralympic National Team Takes 5-0 Win Against Venezuela, Second at Copa America
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Oct. 26, 2010) -- The U.S. Paralympic National Team used a 5-0 victory against Venezuela to finish in second place at the 2010 Copa America and earn a place in the 2011 CPISRA World Championship. Josh McKinney added to his impressive scoring record with two goals against Venezuela, bringing him to eight at the Copa America and 68 in his career. Marthell Vasquez added a pair of goals against Venezuela and Jason Siemons added one.
Brazil's 4-1 win against Argentina secured second place for the U.S., marking their best-ever finish at the event. Jay Hoffman's team will travel to the CPISRA World Championship, from which four teams will qualify for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
