Development Academy Performers of the Week: Oct. 19, 2009

U-15/16 Performer of the Week: Leobardo Vazquez
Club: Texas SC DTH

Vazquez has continued his strong start to the 2009-10 Academy season with five goals in four games, including a goal in every game of the young season. In his latest appearance, he found the net twice against FC Dallas on October 17th.  Vazquez has been a big contributor to Texas SC DTH’s 3-0-1 record, scoring five of the team’s nine goals.

U-17/18 Performer of the Week: Kendall McIntosh
Club: Mustang SC

McIntosh, a former U-15 BNT pool player, is playing on the U-17/18 Mustang SC Academy team and is excelling at the older age group. On October 17th, he has a standout performance against the U-17/18 Chivas USA Academy team, helping his team earn in a 2-2 draw.  Late in the game, McIntosh came up with a key save to prevent Chivas USA from taking the lead.   Mustang SC will be finishing the fall schedule with a trip to Crossfire Premier and Washington Premier in November for their second meeting this season.

Academy Referee of the Week: Kevin Terry, Jr.

Hometown: Brentwood, TN

Terry, a recent graduate of Lipscomb University and former college player, officiated the U-17/18 FC Dallas vs. Texas SC DTH on October 17th at FC Dallas Stadium at Pizza Hut Park.  Kevin received high marks by both teams in the 1-1 draw.  The Academy game was not his first, as Terry has made appearances in previous Academy seasons and at the Winter and Spring Showcases in the 2008-09 season.  He will be back in action as a part of the elite referee staff participating in the 2009 Winter Showcase in Phoenix, AZ, from December 4-8, 2009.
