U.S. Under-17 '90 MNT Defeats Jamaica 2-1

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 12, 2006) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team come from behind to defeat Jamaica, 2-1, this afternoon at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla.

The U.S. fell behind in the 20th minute when Kanneil Hyde finished past goalkeeper Chris Miller, but the U.S. bounced back with two goals in the second half.

Ellis McLoughlin scored the equalizer eight minutes into the second half, scoring on a similar goal to the one he tallied against Jamaica two days earlier (a 2-0 victory). Tommy Meyer got his head to a long throw-in, flicking it to the six-yard box where McLoughlin buried it past the ‘keeper. On the play, McLoughlin got kicked in the face, which opened a small gash under his eye. Temi Molinar came in for McLoughlin in the 52nd minute.

Brek Shea scored the game-winner in the 78th minute, hitting a fantastic one-time. Kirk Urso served in a cross from the right flank and Shea crushed a left-footed strike from 12 yards out that hit the right side of the net.
