CHICAGO (March 9, 2012) – The U.S. Beach Soccer Team will compete in the Beach Soccer Worldwide Copa America 2012 from March 16-18 in Rio Quente, Brazil.
The USA, along with host Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, will compete in a round-robin tournament with a winner being crowned on Sunday, March 18. All matches are set to take place at the Rio Quente Resorts.
First up for the U.S. will be Brazil at 2:45 p.m. ET on Friday, March 16. The outcome of that match will determine which match the U.S. team will participate in the next day, and the outcome of the USA’s second game will determine whether the team will participate in the championship match at 8:15 a.m. ET on March 18.
Traveling with the U.S. squad is forward Oscar Gil, who scored for the team against El Salvador in the Cancun Cup 2012 in February.
