Update from Jamaica

With the U.S. Men’s National Team arriving in Kingston this afternoon following a three hour flight from Washington, D.C., the final phase of preparations are underway for the USA’s third road qualifier in four matches in the final round of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. As Friday’s USA-Jamaica tie approaches (9:30 p.m. ET, beIN SPORT), here’s some notes to get you started.

- A total of 25 players traveled to Jamaica. Per competition rules, only 23 will be named to the game-day roster.

- U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann and the rest of the technical staff will attend tonight’s qualifier between Jamaica and Mexico (9:30 p.m. ET, Telemundo).


- The U.S. team will hold its first training session later this afternoon. Current temperature in Kingston is 88 degrees, with the humiture at 99 degrees

- About 20 traveling U.S. journalists will cover the game Friday night.
