Week 18 of the USSF D-2 Pro League Concludes the First Full Week in August

Week 18 Recap  
Week 18 was a lighter week for the USSF D-2 Pro League, with only six games scheduled through the weekend. Rochester defeated the Portland Timbers 1-0 at home, while Miami FC earned their own 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace Baltimore on the road in Maryland. The lone Friday night match between AC St. Louis and Vancouver Whitecaps FC ended up 0-0. Miami FC concluded their recent road trip that saw seven out of eight games away from home with a 1-1 draw against the Puerto Rico Islanders, coming from behind after an early Puerto Rico goal. The Austin Aztex continued their league leading pace with a solid 4-2 win against the Tampa Bay Rowdies with all four goals coming in the first half. The Carolina RailHawks shut out the Montreal Impact 2-0 to stay in second place just ahead of the Canadian club by four points in the NASL Conference.

Week 19 kicks off with a busy Wednesday featuring four matches on August 11. Puerto Rico hosts Tampa Bay at 8:05 p.m. ET in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Minnesota will travel to Portland for a 10 p.m. ET kick off at PGE Park in Portland, Ore. Montreal plays host to Crystal Palace Baltimore at 7:30 p.m. ET, while the final weekday match will feature Carolina hosting Rochester at 7 p.m. ET in Cary, N.C. Saturday August 14 will be a busy day for the USSF D-2 Pro League as six matches kickoff the weekend. St. Louis hosts the Portland Timbers at 8:10 p.m. ET in St. Louis, Mo. Puerto Rico will play its second home match of the week when they face the league-leading Austin Aztex at 8:05 p.m. ET in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Miami plays host to Tampa Bay in a Floridian battle at 7:30 p.m. ET at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The Rochester Rhinos take on the Montreal Impact at home on August 14 at 7 p.m. ET. Minnesota invites Vancouver Whitecaps FC to Blaine, Minn. at 8 p.m. ET and the final match for Week 19 will feature Crystal Palace Baltimore hosting Carolina at 5 p.m. ET in Baltimore, Md.

Week 19 Notes

  • With six games slated to kick off on Aug. 14, all 12 teams will be in action on Saturday.
  • Tampa and Miami have played three times already this season with Tampa holding the edge after winning 2-0 in the latest game after the first two matches ended in 1-1 draws.
  • Carolina will be looking to make up ground on Vancouver as they sit seven points back in second place in the NASL Conference but have four games in hand.
