U.S. Under-20s Top L.A. Galaxy, 1-0, on Magee Free Kick
PASADENA, Calif. (Wednesday, April 24, 2002) - The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team used a Mike Magee free kick in the 89th minute to top the L.A. Galaxy, 1-0, today at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. With the win, the U.S. Under-20s extend their record this year to 7-0-2. The U.S. defense continued its fine form this year, posting their sixth shutout.
Magee, who has now scored six goals in six games for the Under-20s in 2002, scored as time was winding down with a bending free kick from 29 yards out.
On Monday, the Under-20s topped the University of San Francisco, 2-1, behind two goals from Brett Wiesner. The Under-20s wrap up camp with a match against the U.S. Under-18 MNT on April 28.
