U.S. Soccer Announces National “A” Renewal Course in Partnership with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer in Foxborough, Mass.

CHICAGO (June 7, 2013) — U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Department will conduct a National “A” Renewal course from Sept. 26-30 in Foxborough, Mass. The “A” renewal course is offered only to coaches who are current U.S. Soccer “A” license holders. Attendees will earn eight Continuing Education Units (CEU), the entire amount necessary to renew an “A” license. Registration for the course will begin in July.

“This is a unique and new opportunity for “A” license coaches,” said U.S. Soccer Director of Coaching Development Dave Chesler. “Working with the New England Revolution and learning directly from their senior and youth teams will provide a great opportunity for coaches to examine a practical example of the pathway from youth to elite level play.

The five-day course will provide coaches with the opportunity to learn how the New England Revolution operates day-to-day from the senior team to the youth academies. In addition to attending a Revolution match on Sept. 28, attendees will attend a first-team training session, interact with senior and youth coaching staff members and attend youth academy training sessions.

Participants at U.S. Soccer’s National Coaching Schools will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized license from U.S. Soccer, a member of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.
