U.S. Paralympic National Team Departs for 2012 Paralympic Games
The U.S. Paralympic National Team is headed to London on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in preparation for the 2012 Paralympic Games, which kicks off Saturday, Sept. 1.
The USA was drawn into Group B and opens the eight-team tournament against Ukraine on Sept. 1 at 8 a.m. ET, followed by Brazil on Sept. 3 at 4 a.m. ET and host Great Britain on Sept. 5 at 11:15 a.m. ET. The placement matches run Sept. 7 and 9. All matches are played at Riverbank Arena in London.U.S. head coach Jay Hoffman announced the team’s 12-player roster in late July, led by midfielder Josh McKinney who reached the 100-cap milestone in May.
