Porter Adds Four Players to U-23 Men's National Team Camp Roster

Juan Agudelo, Jack McInerney, Amobi Okugo and Sheanon Williams Added to 35-Man Squad; First U-23 Training Camp Begins Next Week in Germany As Team Begins Preparations for Olympic Qualifying in March

CHICAGO (Nov. 4, 2011) – U-23 Men's National Team head coach Caleb Porter has added four players to the roster for the upcoming camp in Duisburg, Germany beginning on Nov. 7. Juan Agudelo, Jack McInerney, Amobi Okugo and Sheanon Williams have been named to the squad and will join up with the team when it convenes in Europe next week.

Earlier this week Porter named a 31-man squad as the team begins preparations for Olympic qualifying in 2012.

Agudelo joins the U-23s in their first camp following New York Red Bulls' elimination last night from the MLS Playoffs. McInerney, Okugo and Williams all hail from the Philadelphia Union, also ousted from MLS Cup contention Thursday evening.

All four players have significant Youth National Team experience and were graduates of U.S. Soccer's U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla. Agudelo, who hails from the New York Red Bulls Development Academy program, has 15 caps and two goals with the senior national team.

The U-23 camp is taking place at the same time the full Men’s National Team will be gathered in France and Slovenia. U.S. MNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann worked with Porter and the rest of the coaching staff in order to structure the program in a similar fashion to the full team, including the approach to style of play, training sessions, and fitness testing.
