CHICAGO (May 9, 2014) – Under the banner of U.S. Soccer’s “One Nation. One Team.” campaign, a host of interactive events and social media programs will provide soccer fans across the nation with unprecedented opportunities to connect with the U.S. Men’s National Team on its journey from training camp through the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The concept of “One Nation. One Team.” is to unite the country and connect fans to the U.S. MNT as it prepares to take on the world this summer. The U.S. begins its journey on May 14 with training camp at Stanford University. The team will then play a three-match Send-Off Series from May 27-June 7 in San Francisco, New York and Jacksonville, Florida.

Fan Appreciation Day in New York City on May 30 headlines U.S. Soccer’s activities in the build-up toward the World Cup. The Fan Appreciation Day itinerary will include an array of sponsor activations with the Men’s National Team, including an appearance on Good Morning America, which will also feature Grammy Award-winning rapper and Queens, New York, native 50 Cent, and a Fan Fest and Pep Rally in Times Square. The Pep Rally will be shown as an ESPN FC Special, live from Times Square, from 5-6 p.m. ET. The Fan Fest will begin at 1 p.m. and is free to the public.

The Send-Off Series kicks off with USA vs. Azerbaijan, powered by Yingli Solar, at 7 p.m. PT on Tuesday, May 27 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The USA then hosts Turkey at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 1, at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, before traveling to Jacksonville, Florida, to face Nigeria on June 7 at 6 p.m. ET at EverBank Field.

“ONE NATION. ONE TEAM.” ACTIVATIONS
One Nation. One Team. Social Campaign
Starting on Tuesday, May 13, and running through the 2014 FIFA World Cup, fans will be able to share messages of support to the U.S. Men’s National Team via social media. Similar to the #FanWall concept executed for the USA-Mexico match on Sept. 10, 2013, in Columbus, Ohio, U.S. Soccer is asking fans for messages that will be gathered across its social media platforms (Twitter @ussoccer, Facebook and Instagram). The collected quotes will appear in unique locations connected to the team during its journey to Brazil, from training camp, to Send-Off Series games, Fan Appreciation Day in Times Square and in Brazil when the USA squad arrives and trains in Sao Paulo.

Send-Off Series Bus Wrap with Supporters
U.S. Soccer’s 33,000-plus Supporters Club members will travel with the U.S. Men’s National Team during all three Send-Off Series games – at least in spirit. In partnership with Continental Tire, each U.S. Soccer Supporters Club members’ name will be included on a bus decal.

Public Training
The always-popular opportunity to see the U.S. MNT in training will take place in the lead-up to all three Send-Off Series matches. These training sessions, which are free and open to the public, include the following days and locations: Monday, May 26, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco (5-6:30 p.m. PT); Saturday, May 31, at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ET); and Friday, June 6, at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida (5-6:30 p.m. ET).

Fan Fest
Before every Send-Off Series game, each venue will feature a Fan Fest with a plethora of activities hosted by U.S. Soccer sponsors designed to entertain and engage fans before the match. Admission is free, and the activities will range from former National Team player appearances to interactive games, giveaway items, product sampling and much more. Fan Fest Activations for all three Send-Off Series games include Allstate, AT&T, Castrol, Chevrolet, Continental Tire, McDonald’s, Mondelez and Pepsi. More details will be available at ussoccer.com.

National Anthem Sung by American Outlaws
For all three Send-Off Series matches, the U.S. Soccer supporters group the American Outlaws will lead the singing of the National Anthem.

Fan Appreciation Day in New York City
The Fan Appreciation Day itinerary will include a variety of events from morning to night. The USA kicks off the day with an appearance on Good Morning America in Central Park where they will unveil a crowd-sourced Tifo display featuring images supplied by supporters of the MNT, courtesy of U.S. Soccer and Degree Men. Fan Fest at Times Square begins at 1 p.m. where fans can interact with the World Cup-bound players and staff. At 5 p.m. ET, ESPN FC will begin its live broadcast from Times Square. Fan Fest Activations at Times Square will include Allstate, AT&T, Budweiser, Continental Tire, Marriott, McDonald’s, Mondelez and Pepsi.
