CHICAGO (Aug. 13, 2014) — The U.S. Soccer Coaching Department will conduct National Coaching Schools for “A” and “B” license courses from Nov. 1-9, 2014 in Casa Grande, Ariz. Qualified U.S. Soccer license holders will have the first opportunity to register for a course beginning Monday, Aug. 18. Qualified applicants who do not hold a U.S. Soccer license may apply starting on Friday, Aug. 22.
“Coaching education is continuously evolving. Constant, thoughtful change will keep U.S. Soccer licensing on pace with FIFA standards, with the evolution of the U.S. game and with current methods of teaching the game,” said Director of Coaching Development Dave Chesler.
“We have created an intentional progression of U.S. Soccer content through the sequencing of courses. Our teaching competencies and tools are reinforced through the sequential coaching methodology in our pathway. We encourage licensing candidates to enter the U.S. Soccer pathway early and remain in for consistency, efficiency and positive growth.”
Participants at U.S. Soccer’s National Coaching Schools will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized license from U.S. Soccer, a member of Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.
In a typical course, coaches will interact with the nation’s top-level instructors, including current and former national team, professional and international coaches. The licensing programs are focused on teaching current theoretical and practical knowledge to provide coaches with the ability to improve the every day training environment for elite players.
