For the first time ever, the foul poles at Busch Stadium were removed in preparation for the U.S. Men's National Team's World Cup Qualifier against St. Vincent & The Grenadines on Nov. 13. A capacity crowd of 45,000 is expected for the USA's first match of the campaign to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The foul poles came down today on the 26th anniversary of the MNT''s last World Cup qualifier in St. Louis, a 0-0 draw on Nov. 5, 1989, at Busch Memorial Stadium.
The foul poles had not been removed since they were installed in the stadium's inaugural season in 2006. The effort will provide enhanced sightlines for fans.
