CHICAGO (Jan. 29, 2016) - U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has added veteran defender Michael Orozco to the roster for the match against Iceland. Orozco will be available for training Friday and return to Club Tijuana on Sunday evening. He has been recovering from an ankle injury suffered during preseason which sidelined him for the first three games of the Liga MX season, and he recently returned to full fitness.
Orozco has appeared 20 times for the United States at the senior team level, including seven games in 2015. He famously scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory against Mexico on Aug. 15, 2012, delivering the USA its first win against Mexico on Mexican soil.
The camp, which runs from Jan. 11-Feb. 6 and contains a mix of Senior Team members and a host of players age-eligible for the U-23 MNT, will culminate with friendlies against Iceland on Jan. 31 [TICKETS] and Canada on Feb. 5 [TICKETS]. Both matches will be played at StubHub Center in Carson.
