Culminating a year in which he was one of the most consistent players for the U.S., Bocanegra joined the century club by becoming the 12th U.S. player to reach 100 caps. Possessing strength and deceptive speed, he has added savvy and composure to the list of traits that have made him a key component to the U.S. backline. A two-time FIFA World Cup veteran, Bocanegra developed into a confident captain and was one of two players to start every game under Jurgen Klinsmann in 2011. Now in his eighth season in Europe, 'Los' moved across the English Channel from Fulham to Stade Rennais and was a regular in the back line for Saint-Étienne in France's top flight before moving back to the UK to play for Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.
