Chula Vista FC (USASA) 2, FC Tucson (PDL) 1 (AET) After missing out on the 2014 tournament, FC Tucson returned on Wednesday night, going ahead in the 58th minute through Brandon Zambrano. The home side looked likely to hang on to the slim margin, but Chula Vista substitute Manuel Carillo found a dramatic 82nd minute equalizer to send the match to extra time. In the extra frame, Chula Vista's Mario Rubio found the go-ahead goal in the 95th minute, but FC Tucson won a penalty four minutes later. However on the spot kick, Eduardo Sanchez smacked his effort off the underside of the cross bar and Chula Vista held on for the 2-1 extra time victory. The USASA side moves on to a Second Round date with Arizona United SC on May 20 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
