The Volkswagen All-Star Spotlight program is a collaboration between U.S. Soccer and VW to highlight children with a passion for the game. The VW All-Star for the USWNT’s September 21 match against Paraguay is eight-year-old Olivia G. from Cincinnati. Olivia is an incredibly hard-working and intelligent player, who is always practicing to improve her skills. Along with her high motor and eagerness to learn, Olivia has a passion for the game and gets excited whenever she has the chance to watch the U.S. Women’s National Team play on TV.

Who is your favorite U.S. Soccer player and why?
Alex Morgan is my favorite U.S. Soccer player! She is a strong player and I want to be like and play like her one day.

Why do you love soccer?
I love soccer because it’s a really fun sport. I love to run, play hard and compete with my teammates.

 

What is the most important lesson you have learned from playing sports?
Some lessons I have learned from playing sports are teamwork, playing as a team to win the game and to never give up. I learn a lot from my teammates and I have made a lot of friends through sports!


What are you most looking forward to this fall?
My ninth birthday and winning my soccer tournament!

Who inspires you the most and why?
My mom. She is my number one fan and cheers and motivates me at practice and during my games.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A doctor, soccer player or soccer coach.

What or who are you thankful for?
My family, my friends, my TFA soccer teammates and Coach Brent.
