USWNT vs Paraguay VW CHAMP Player Honoree: King

September 21st International Friendly – USWNT v. Paraguay – Cincinnati, OH

King is a fun loving eight-year-old who loves to play soccer with his two siblings, Mesiah and Faith, in the parks of New York City. They all love running, watching soccer on TV and particularly like that they don’t need to use their hands!

At the age of two, King was diagnosed with a rare incurable blood disease and blood cancer. After many different treatments, including 3.5 years of chemotherapy, King suffered irreversible cognitive damage and residual pain.

Despite those hardships, King continues fighting forward not only for himself, but others. He started his own foundation (https://www.kingfightscancerfoundation.org/) to help other cancer families. He does year-round toy drives and even delivers the toys himself. King also partners with local blood banks to do blood drives across New York’s five boroughs to make sure there is a steady supply of blood for everyone, especially cancer and rare disease patients. King has raised over $3 Million dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by sharing his journey. King wants to inspire those that are currently fighting and honor those that have “gained” their angel wings.

King looks to the players on both the USWNT and USMNT as inspiration for himself and does his best to play as much soccer as he can and loves to cheer on both teams.
