With the 2012-13 Development Academy season on the horizon, the program has a fresh look as the Academy has designed a new logo heading into its sixth campaign.
The two stars represent the two Academy mixed-age groups at the U-15/16 and U-17/18 levels. The four stripes – two white and two red – represent the four pillars of the Development Academy: Excellence, Pride, Tradition and Education.
The overall crest shape is the same as the U.S. Soccer crest as the Academy is connected closely with the National Team programs.
The 2012-13 Development Academy season kicks off this weekend, Sept. 8-9, with 40 matches on the docket. The 80-team Academy field is broken down into seven divisions among three conferences: Northwest and Southwest Division in the West Conference; Frontier and Mid-America Division in the Central Conference; and the Northeast, Atlantic and Southeast Division in the East Conference.
