We will need significant investment at all levels of the game to accomplish our goals. Attracting ongoing investment from key supporters such as corporate and media partners, philanthropists, investors and professional leagues will be possible if we partner with our members to increase the size of the soccer market.
As we increase the number of fans watching our professional leagues and National Teams on television, online and in person, we can attract new investment and continued reinvestment in our sport to help achieve our goals and benefit our entire ecosystem.
U.S. Soccer plays a critical role in this effort. First, we promote the sport at all levels, leading to a greater number of participants whose love of the game could translate into lifelong fandom and significant investment. Second, we advocate on behalf of our members, expanding the influence of our sport and creating more opportunities to secure financial support.
Against the backdrop of the 2024 Copa America, 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and the desire to host a FIFA Women’s World Cup on home soil, we have an unprecedented opportunity to drive renewed passion for the game and attract significant investment into soccer in all forms across the U.S.
