USA vs. Uruguay
International Friendly
Sept. 10, 2019
Busch Stadium; St. Louis, Mo.
Live Broadcast: 8 p.m. ET on FS1, Univision and TUDN

Tonight’s USMNT Starting XI vs. Uruguay:
1-Brad Guzan, 3-Aaron Long, 7-Cristian Roldan, 11-Jordan Morris, 13-Tim Ream (capt.), 14-Jackson Yueill, 17-Sebastian Lletget, 18-Sergiño Dest, 19-Josh Sargent, 20-Reggie Cannon, 21-Tyler Boyd

Substitutes: 12-Jesse Gonzalez, 2-Nick Lima, 4-Walker Zimmerman, 6-Wil Trapp, 9-Gyasi Zardes, 16-Daniel Lovitz, 22-Miles Robinson, 24-Paxton Pomykal, 27-Corey Baird

  • Starting XI Cap Numbers (including this match): Brad Guzan (61), Tim Ream (36), Jordan Morris (35), Cristian Roldan (16), Aaron Long (13), Sebastian Lletget (11), Josh Sargent (9), Reggie Cannon (8), Tyler Boyd (7), Sergiño Dest (2), Jackson Yueill (2).

  • Tonight’s Starting XI has an average age of 25 years, 65 days and 17 caps.

  • USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter makes seven changes to the team that started against Mexico, with defenders Reggie Cannon, Sergiño Dest and Aaron Long, and winger Tyler Boyd as the holdovers.

  • Sebastian Lletget makes his first USMNT start since the 6-0 World Cup Qualifying victory against Honduras on March 24, 2017. The midfielder opened the scoring early before suffering a Lisfrac injury just 10 minutes later, with the ailment keeping him out of action for nearly a year.

  • A day after turning 35 years old, veteran goalkeeper Brad Guzan makes his first appearance since the team’s defeat to England at Wembley Stadium in London on Nov. 15, 2018. The Atlanta United FC backstop is the 41st player capped by the USMNT in 2019.

  • Captaining the side for the third time, defender Tim Ream (St. Louis) joins striker Josh Sargent (O’Fallon, Mo.) in getting starts in front of their hometown crowd tonight. Ream has previously captained the team in a 1-0 win against Ecuador (March 26, 2019 in Orlando) and the 3-1 Gold Cup Semifinal win against Jamaica (July 3, 2019 in Nashville).

  • Ream also featured in the USMNT’s last match at Busch Stadium, a 6-1 World Cup Qualifying win against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Nov. 13, 2015. Just 15 at the time, Sargent was in the crowd as a fan that night.

  • Ream is one of three players to appear for the USA that night, joined by Guzan – who started the match – and Jordan Morris who made his World Cup Qualifying debut as a substitute off the bench.

  • With the starts, Long and Roldan make their 11th appearances of 2019, moving the pair into a tie with Paul Arriola for most caps this year. The trio trails Gyasi Zardes who has collected 12 appearances in 2019.

  • Substitute goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez and midfielder Paxton Pomykal have the opportunity to make their USMNT debuts tonight.

  • Both teams are allowed six substitutions in tonight’s match.

  • In a series that first started at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, the USA and Uruguay are an even 2-2-2 in six matches.
