CHICAGO (Feb. 13, 2021) – Midfielder Jaelin Howell, a junior at Florida State, will replace Samantha Mewis on the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa.

Mewis, who suffered an ankle injury in the USA’s Jan. 22 match against Colombia and missed the last three Women’s Super League matches for Manchester City, will stay in England to complete her rehabilitation.

The 21-year-old Howell has one career cap, earned on Nov. 27, 2020 against the Netherlands during the USA’s 2-0 win in Breda. Howell is a veteran of two youth World Cups for the USA.
