Application Now Open: U.S. Soccer Talent Reporters Program
Every talent deserves the opportunity to be scouted
The U.S. Soccer Talent Reporters Program is designed to expand and diversify youth talent identification across the country by empowering licensed coaches to help identify high-potential players (ages U-13 to U-20). By broadening our scouting network, the program helps ensure talented players are seen regardless of geography, club affiliation, or playing environment.
Built on the success of the inaugural Talent Reporters Pilot, the program strengthens U.S. Soccer's Talent Identification efforts while creating more opportunities for coaches to contribute directly to the future of the game.
About the Program
The Talent Reporters Program is part of the U.S. Way, U.S. Soccer's commitment to building world-class player development pathways and creating opportunities to identify the best talent across every level of the game.
As a Talent Reporter, you will:
- Identify high-potential players (ages U-13 through U-20) through live match observation.
- Submit player evaluations using the U.S. Soccer P3 Talent ID Digital Platform and U.S. Soccer Key Qualities.
- Contribute directly to U.S. Soccer's Talent Identification process, helping inform scouting priorities and Youth National Team player monitoring.
- Receive training, education, and ongoing support from U.S. Soccer's Talent Identification team.
- Help expand the Youth National Team talent pool by identifying players from across the country.
- Increase visibility for players in underrepresented communities, schools, clubs, and leagues.
- Join a nationwide network committed to strengthening player identification in service to the game.
All Talent Reporters must meet program requirements, including Safe Soccer compliance, background screening requirements, and adherence to U.S. Soccer's Code of Conduct.
Built on a Successful Pilot
From September 2025 through June 2026, U.S. Soccer conducted the inaugural Talent Reporters Pilot Program to test, refine, and strengthen the program model.
The pilot demonstrated the value of expanding the Talent ID network by:
- Increasing scouting coverage across the country.
- Identifying players who advanced into Talent ID Centers.
- Expanding player visibility in underrepresented regions and non-traditional scouting environments.
- Building a collaborative network of coaches dedicated to supporting the future of U.S. Soccer.

The lessons learned from the pilot directly informed the design of today's Talent Reporters Program.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- U.S. Soccer B License holder or above (including current holders of an A-Youth License, A-Senior License, Pro License, Club Technical Lead License, or Talent Scout License are also eligible (or meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined during the application process).
- Complete Safe Soccer requirements and applicable background screening.
- Agree to the U.S. Soccer and Talent Reporters Codes of Conduct.
- Be committed to identifying and reporting on high-potential youth players throughout the program year.
