ATLANTA (Sept. 15, 2026) – The U.S. Soccer Federation has selected Cincinnati to host the home leg of the Concacaf Nations League Quarterfinal Round. In its first official competition for the 2030 FIFA World Cup cycle, the U.S. Men’s National Team will play at TQL Stadium on Nov. 17 in the second match of the quarterfinal series. The first leg will be played on Nov. 14 away at an opponent to be determined following the conclusion of the Concacaf Nations League Group Stage League A fixtures in September and October.
Kickoff in Cincinnati is set for 7 p.m. ET and the match will be broadcast on TNT, truTV, Universo, Max and Peacock, as well as live on radio with Westwood One Sports delivering English- language commentary while longtime partner Fútbol de Primera has the Spanish-language call.
November’s match will be the USA’s sixth trip to the home of FC Cincinnati after posting an undefeated record in the past four appearances at the venue, including two victories. Historically, the U.S. has a 2-1-2 record in Cincinnati after debuting in the city in 2019. In the team’s most recent appearance in the Queen City, Christian Pulisic netted the USA’s only goal in a 1-1 draw against New Zealand on Sept. 10, 2024.
“For our first official match of the new cycle, we couldn’t ask for a better host than Cincinnati. The Nations League is an important competition and a great opportunity to begin challenging the group in these types of matches,” USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino said. “The fans in Cincinnati have always shown amazing support for the National Team when we needed them the most, and we look forward to the energy they will bring which is so important to our players.”
The USMNT won the first three editions of the Concacaf Nations League, starting with the thrilling instant classic triumph against Mexico, 3-2 in overtime, to secure a victory in the inaugural tournament in 2021. In 2023, the U.S. dominated Canada 2-0 to claim its second championship. In the most recent victory in 2024, the USA rallied for an extra-time 2-1 defeat of Jamaica in the Nations League semifinals before adding another chapter to its history of Dos a Cero victories vs. Mexico for its third-straight title.

BUSINESS IN THE BUCKEYE STATE
In one of the most important states in American soccer history, the USMNT has recorded a dominant 16-3-5 record in Ohio and have not lost a game in Cincinnati since 2019.
The USMNT has played five games in the Queen City since, with four matches taking place at TQL Stadium where the U.S. remains unbeaten. The team’s first match at the home of FC Cincinnati resulted in a Dos a Cero as the USMNT beat Mexico 2-0 in a World Cup Qualifying game. Almost two years later, Cincinnati hosted the USA’s 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Quarterfinal match against Canada. The U.S. advanced to the semifinal after topping the Canadians 3-2 in penalties following a 2-2 draw in regulation and extra time.
Cincinnati opened the doors of soccer-specific TQL Stadium for the first time in May 2021, months before hosting a sellout crowd of 26,000 people as the USMNT beat Mexico in the USA’s first match at the stadium. The U.S. went on to play at TQL three years in a row. The squad defeated Morocco 3-0 on June 5, 2022, in a match that featured three players - Joe Scally, Malik Tillman and Haji Wright - who earned their first caps and went on to represent the United States at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The USA and Canada drew 2-2 on July 9, 2023, and in the last match before the start of Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure, the team tied New Zealand with one goal apiece on Sept. 10, 2024.
CHASING NUMBER FOUR
The USMNT won the first three editions of the Concacaf Nations League, starting with the competition’s inaugural tournament in 2021. The quarterfinal round this November marks the USA’s first step towards another piece of continental hardware.
The USA claimed the first Concacaf Nations League championship in unforgettable fashion in 2021 with a 3-2 overtime victory vs. Mexico. After a back-and-forth 90 minutes, Christian Pulisic netted the game-winning penalty in the 114th minute before substitute goalkeeper Ethan Horvath saved a late penalty kick from Mexico to secure the trophy.
In 2023, the U.S. topped Canada 2-0 with goals from defender Chris Richards and forward Folarin Balogun. Forward Gio Reyna assisted both scorers as the duo became the first and second players to score their first international goals in a final.
During the 2024 edition, the USMNT lifted the Concacaf Nations League trophy for a third time. In the final vs. Mexico, midfielder Tyler Adams scored an electrifying goal at the end of the first half before Gio Reyna put an exclamation point on things after the break to boost the U.S. to another Dos a Cero victory against its archrival.
Following a fourth-place finish in the 2025 CNL Finals, the USA will chase a fourth title in five attempts beginning with the quarterfinals.
ABOUT THE CONCACAF NATIONS LEAGUE
A competition created to maximize the quality, quantity and frequency of competitive matches for all of Concacaf’s 41 Member Associations, the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League will kick off during the international match window in September and October. This will be the tournament's fifth edition with a revamped look including the Concacaf Nations League Finals for League A and, for the first time, centralized Championships for Leagues B and C. The 2026-27 CNL will again be played in a three-League format (A, B and C), with the region’s 41 men’s senior national teams distributed into the Leagues according to the results of the 2024-25 CNL and the competition's promotion and relegation system.
The quarterfinal round will be played in a home-and-away format during the November international window, with the aggregate score winners in each quarterfinal advancing to the 2027 Concacaf Nations League Finals next March at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif.
The pairings for the quarterfinals will be determined based on the Concacaf Rankings Index following the October window and 2024-25 CNL Group Stage results.
