At U.S. Soccer, we celebrate the members, coaches, referees, technical staff, and leaders who shape the game at every level across the country. It is our mission to provide the tens of thousands of soccer participants with the skills and development they need to reach their full potential.
In support of the Professional Development pillar of our U.S. Way strategy and in partnership with our members, we offer a wide range of education and professional development opportunities for many types of roles that support the game.
- Expanding Offerings: We are continuing to invest in existing and new professional development pathways, adding more in-person and online courses to foster lifelong learning, whether you are a grassroots volunteer or a professional coach. We are also focused on understanding the needs of coaches and technical staff across recreation, competitive, pre-professional, and professional to align our coaching education services and products accordingly. Lastly, The Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center will elevate how we educate talent by providing world-class technology, facilities, and environments for learning, collaboration, and development.
- Growing Communities: We are building and facilitating key development networks across the landscape, such as increasing opportunities for mentorship through our female-focused SheChampions program.
- Distributing Resources and Best Practices: We are documenting and democratizing the expertise of the best soccer professionals in the game, transforming their knowledge and methods into accessible resources for all participants—from team administrators to top coaches. For example, this summer we held a working session with Coach Educators to get their feedback on the creation of a U.S. Way Player Development Framework and how it could be used to drive outcomes through education. This fall, we will also deploy a wide-scale survey to gather input from coaches and technical staff across the ecosystem.
