Now a veteran member of the MNT player pool, Hamid has long been looked to as a possible incumbent in the USA’s long line of talented goalkeepers since signing as a Homegrown Player with D.C. United in 2009.

The fiery netminder captured the 2014 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and was also part of two CONCACAF Gold Cup championship teams in 2013 and 2017, putting him in the shop window to move to Danish side Midtjylland where he’ll begin play in February 2018. With a new club and a more open picture at the goalkeeping picture, Hamid will be primed to make a bigger mark going forward.
