Women's World Cup Trophy on Display in Birmingham Ahead of WNT Match vs. Haiti

CHICAGO (Sept. 16, 2015) - The Women's World Cup winner’s trophy will be on display in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday, Sept. 18, and Sunday, Sept. 20, ahead of the U.S. Women’s National Team game against Haiti at Legion Field.

The trophy will be on display at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 18, from 2-6 p.m. Fans will also be able to see the trophy at FanHQ on game day from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the West side of the stadium across from Gate 5.

Fans are encouraged to come take their photo with the iconic trophy, which is normally located at the United States Soccer Federation's headquarters in Chicago. Nicknamed "Soccer House," the main office for the national governing body for soccer in the U.S. for the past 24 years is located in the South Prairie Historic District at 18th and Prairie.

The U.S. Women's National Team won their third Women's World Cup trophy earlier this summer, defeating Japan 5-2 on July 5 in front of more than 53,000 fans at BC Place in Vancouver. The match was watched by a domestic TV audience of more than 25 million, making it the most watched soccer game in U.S. history.
