CHICAGO (March 12, 2020) – U.S. Soccer, in consultation with partners, has indefinitely postponed the 2020 SheBelieves Summit that was scheduled to take place Saturday, March 14 in Chicago due to public health concerns regarding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). This decision was made in order to cut travel requirements for speakers and attendees and limit personal interactions so as to best protect the health and well-being of those who had planned to attend.

With events and tournaments in the United States and across the world, U.S. Soccer has been closely monitoring the public health developments regarding COVID-19 here in the United States and internationally.

“As always, the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff and fans is paramount, which is why we took this step to postpone the SheBelieves Summit,” said U.S. Soccer Chief Medical Officer George Chiampas. “U.S. Soccer’s medical staff is in real-time communication with both domestic and international health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and infectious disease specialists, and we will continue to take the proper steps for all our events in the U.S. and across the world as the situation continues to develop."

U.S. Soccer will continue to monitor the situation and consult with experts as we consider options for holding the SheBelieves Summit at a later date should conditions allow for a safe opportunity to do so.

The SheBelieves Summit provides college-enrolled students the opportunity to engage in panel discussions, professional development workshops, and hear from women who are driving progress in sports, business, entertainment and more. Panel discussions and workshops are designed to help attendees address matters related to building self-confidence and promoting confidence in others, planning and preparing for the career they desire, and establishing a strong community of support – all of which will help attendees reach their leadership potential and achieve professional and personal goals.
