She's Back! Alex Morgan gets Minutes for Spurs

Morgan Returns To The Pitch, Makes Tottenham Hotspur Debut

Playing in her first competitive match in 445 days, U.S. Women’s National Team forward Alex Morgan made her Tottenham Hotspur debut on Saturday, playing 21 minutes off the bench in Spurs’ 1-1 draw against Reading.

The two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion signed with Tottenham in September as she continued to work her way back to fitness following the birth of her daughter last May. A minor injury setback delayed her much-anticipated Spurs debut, but her appearance on Saturday marked her first action for club or country since August 21, 2019, in the Orlando Pride’s 2-1 win over the Chicago Red Stars. She has not appeared for the USWNT since the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final.

With the draw, Tottenham snapped its four-match losing streak. Spurs return to action Saturday, Nov. 14 when they take on Bristol City.
