CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2020) – U.S. Women’s National Team forwards Tobin Heath and Megan Rapinoe have been named to the FIFA FIFPro Women’s World11 for 2020.

The awards were announced today at the 2020 The Best FIFA Football Awards Ceremony, which was conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. USWNT goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher was a finalist for the FIFA The Best Women’s Goalkeeper, which was awarded to France’s Sarah Bouhaddi.

This is the fifth time a FIFA FIFPro Women’s World11 has been named and the USA has had at least one player chosen each year. Only France shares that distinction. Overall, the USA has had 10 different players earn World11 recognition since the inception of the honor in 2015.

This is a first FIFPro Women’s World11 selection for Heath while Rapinoe, who was named The Best FIFA Women’s Player of the Year in 2019, was also named to the World11 last year.

Heath played in seven games for the U.S. in 2020, helping the USA win the 2020 SheBelieves Cup and qualify for the Summer Olympic in Tokyo, and has also been highly effective for club in 2020, recently voted the FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month for November in recognition of her performance for league-leading Manchester United. Rapinoe appeared in eight matches for the USA in 2020, scoring twice and finishing second on the team with five assists.

The complete 2020 FIFA FIFPro Women’s World11 is goalkeeper Christiane Endler (Paris Saint-Germain and Chile), defenders Lucy Bronze (Manchester City and England), Wendie Renard (Olympique Lyonnais and France) and Millie Bright (Chelsea and England), midfielders Delphine Cascarino (Olympique Lyonnais and France), Barbara Bonansea (Juventus and Italy), and Veronica Boquete (AC Milan and Spain), and forwards Megan Rapinoe (OL Reign and the USA), Pernille Harder (Chelsea and Denmark), Vivianne Miedema (Arsenal and the Netherlands) and Tobin Heath (Manchester United and the USA).
